Yes, it’s Annoying and confusing, you receive text messages, and you have enough balance but whenever you try to send an SMS, seeing errors like “Message Not Sent, Try again”  “Unable to Send Sms”. That’s why I collected a list of Vodafone, BSNL, Aircel, Idea, Jio, Reliance GSM, Tata Docomo, Telenor, Airtel Message Center number for All states and I will show you How to fix above-mentioned “SMS sending issues” with proper steps.

Let’s see What is SMSC a.k.a “Short Message Service Center” & How to Set Message Center Number in Any Mobile

What is the Message Center Number?

An SMS centre (SMSC) is responsible for handling the SMS operations of a wireless network.

1. When an SMS message is sent from a mobile phone, it will first reach an SMS centre.
2. The SMS centre then forwards the SMS message towards the destination.
3. The main duty of an SMSC is to route SMS messages and regulate the process. If the recipient is unavailable (for example, when the mobile phone is switched off), the SMSC will store the SMS message.
4. It will forward the SMS message when the recipient is available and the message’s expiry period is not exceeded.

Default Message Center Number for All Networks

There are many mobile networks in India just like that lot’s of people are using different networks. So many people have encountered this SMS Center Number issue. If you are facing this Problem now, Select Default Message Center number from below list and set that number in your Message Center number Box. How To Change Message Center Number in Android

I hope you Copied the “SMS center number“ you need from the table above.  Now I am going to guide you How to set the Correct Message center number for your Mobile Operator. There are two methods two set the SMSC Number. Both methods are very easy.

1.  Via Message settings
2. By Dialling USSD Code (Try this method if you don’t have message center option in Message settings)

Change Message Center Number Via Message Settings

• Open Default SMS application on your phone
• Tap on the Menu button(3 Dots) then select settings Scroll Down and select Message Center Number. If you cannot find the SMS center number in the menu list. There will be an option for SMS/Text Message Settings or Advanced Settings, Select SMSC Number from there)

• After selecting Message center Number, type Working message center number for your operator

In the Above Screenshot, I entered Airtel Message Center Number

• After changing the message center number you can send SMS without any errors.

Note: Don’t remove the country code from the message center number. without country code, the SMSC will not work properly. Also for some devices like Xiaomi you need to open phones settings -> System apps-> messaging to access Message settings

Change Message Center Number in ANDROID [Via USSD Code]

If you cannot find Message Center Number in your Message settings. Don’t worry Try this Simple USSD (*#*#4636#*#*) Method. This method is working on almost Every Android Versions. Check Images below every step to do this method without errors

• Open your phone dialer, then Type *#*#4636#*#* without any mistakes.

  

• A window will open up. Select Phone information from the list

• Now you will see some complex options. Don’t worry just scroll down and you can see SMSC and a box beside that

• Type Correct Message Center Number for your network in that Box. Then Tap Update.
• Restart your mobile. Done! Now Send SMS Without any errors
